Directions to the Scandinavian Living Center
206 Waltham St., West Newton

From the West: Take the Mass. Pike to Exit 17 (Newton/Watertown). At the end of the ramp, go straight through one set of lights while moving to the far left lane. Bear left over bridge, moving one lane to the right. Follow the sign for West Newton. You are now heading west on Washington Street. Follow Rt. 16 West (Washington St.) about ½ mile until you note a Whole Foods supermarket on your right. Turn right onto Crafts St. immediately before the supermarket. Proceed about 1 ½ miles through a residential area. The Scandinavian Living Center is on your left at the Crafts and Waltham St. traffic light. Turn left at the traffic light. The Center is immediately on the left surrounded by a low stone wall. Please park on the street as driveway spaces are reserved for residents and their guests.

From Boston and the North and South Shores: Take Rte. 93 to the Mass. Pike Westbound; continue on the Pike, passing the tolls for Cambridge. Get off the Pike at Exit 17 and proceed as above.

From Route 9 Westbound: Approximately 1 mile west of Chestnut Hill Mall, exit right onto Walnut Street (just before exit for Centre Street). Cross Commonwealth Ave. and Washington St., continuing on Walnut until Walnut St. ends at its intersection with Crafts Rd. Take left on Craft and follow directions above. 

From Route 9 Eastbound: Exit Centre Street in Newton Highlands. At the end of the ramp, turn right onto Centre Street and cross under Rt 9. Turn left at the first light onto Walnut Street and follow directions above in “From Route 9 Westbound” from Walnut St.

From the North and South: Take Rte.128 (Rte. 95) to Exit 21 onto Rt. 16 East. About 1 ½ miles until Rt. 16 crosses over the Mass Pike. After you cross the Mass Pike, you will be in West Newton Square. At the first light, turn left onto Cherry St. Then turn right at the first light onto Webster St.. Proceed about 50 yards to the end of Webster and turn left onto Waltham St. Proceed about ¾ mile until you note the Fessenden School campus on your right. The Scandinavian Living Center is immediately adjacent to the Fessenden School before traffic lights at intersection of Waltham and Craft. Please park on the street as driveway spaces are reserved for residents and their guests.

Nordic Hall is on the immediate right of entry foyer.

CONNECTICUT

Friends Meeting House in Storrs

Take route 195 south at exit 68 off interstate 84 or from the south, take route 195 north in Wilimantic. Turn off Route 195 onto North Eagleville Road at the intersection near the north end of the U. Conn. campus. There is a stoplight at that intersection and also a prominent, steepled Congregational church, which makes a good landmark. Travel on North Eagleville Road for 0.9 miles and then turn left onto Hunting Lodge Road. The Storrs Friends Meeting House is the first building on the right. Welcome!

From I-84 East (toward Hartford):
Take exit 41 (South Main Street). Turn right at the end of the ramp. Go to the second light and turn left onto New Britain Avenue. Follow New Britain Avenue to the second traffic light and turn left onto South Quaker Lane. Take the first right onto Burgoyne Street. Turn right at the sign into Elmwood Community Center parking lot and proceed to the front of the building. 

From I-84 West (toward Waterbury):
Take exit 42 (Trout Brook Drive). Proceed down Trout Brook Drive to the first traffic light and turn right onto South Quaker Lane. Take the first left onto Burgoyne Street. Turn right at the sign into ECC parking lot and proceed to the front of the building. 
 

Directions: to Welles-Turner Library
2407 Main St., Glastonbury  

VIA I-91: EXIT 25, Rt. 3 PUTNAM BRIDGE, Glastonbury. Cross the Putnam Bridge and take the exit labeled MAIN STREET. (It has no number.) At the end of the exit ramp, turn LEFT onto GLASTONBURY BLVD. At the next stop light, turn RIGHT onto MAIN STREET. Go approximately ONE MILE. The library is on the RIGHT, immediately after the time/temperature sign on the Banknorth Connecticut Building.  

VIA I-84: Take EXIT 55, Rt. 2. Take Rt. 2 to EXIT 8, HEBRON AVENUE. From Rt. 2 East turn RIGHT onto HEBRON AVE. From Rt. 2 West turn RIGHT onto OAK STREET and then LEFT onto HEBRON AVE. Follow Hebron Avenue until it ends at Main St. Turn RIGHT onto MAIN STREET. The library is immediately on the left.
